Accreditation
  
Shelton State Community College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award the associate degree.  Shelton State Community College also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels.   Questions about the accreditation of Shelton State Community College may be directed in writing to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097, by calling 404.679.4500, or by using information available on SACSCOC’s website (www.sacscoc.org).  
  
Program Accreditation 
The Shelton State Associate Degree and Practical Nursing Programs are approved by the Alabama Board of Nursing (ABN), RSA Plaza, 770 Washington Avenue, Suite 250, Montgomery, Alabama 36104, telephone 334.293.5200. The programs are also accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc. (ACEN), 3390 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 1400, Atlanta, Georgia 30326, telephone 404.975.5000. 
  
The Health Information Management and Informatics accreditor of Shelton State Community College Health Information Technology Program is the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). The College’s accreditation for the Associate Degree in Health Information Management and Information Management has been affirmed through 2028. The Shelton State Respiratory Therapy Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) (www.coarc.com). The program is on Probationary Accreditation as of November 3, 2023. Students graduating under the Probationary Accreditation status are considered graduates of a CoARC accredited program. Additionally, successful completion of the program under Probationary Accreditation enables the student to become a certified respiratory therapist (CRT) after completing the National Board for Respiratory Care exams. CoARC is located at 264 Precision Blvd Telford, Tennessee 37690. CoARC can be contacted by phone at 817.283.2835.
